Tahoe City is one of the larger cities in the northern Lake Tahoe area. Located near the northwest corner of the oval-shaped Lake Tahoe, Tahoe City is located near the junction of Highway 89 and Highway 28 about 10 air-miles west of the California-Nevada border.

Tahoe City is a popular destination for the northern Lake Tahoe area. The Tahoe City Golf Course is a popular attraction for tourists to Tahoe City. The 9-hole golf course is just above the lake.

The popular Squaw Valley snow resort area is located just outside of Tahoe City.

The Tahoe City Marina is probably the most popular destination in the Tahoe City area. The full service marina contains boat rentals and services, marina services, fuel, boat launches. The marina also features a shopping mall and restaurant called Sierra Vista that has beautiful views of Lake Tahoe. Sierra Vista offers true lake front dining and primarily serves lunch and dinner with brunch on the weekends.
